Art craft — stone carving · Ngounié
Mbigou stone — a grey-green soapstone quarried in Ngounié — is the emblem of Gabonese sculpture: statuettes, masks and bas-reliefs carved by the Libreville cooperative's sculptors and masters such as Vincent 'Skeety' Moukagni-Boukinda. Validated as a geographical indication in November 2025 (decree being adopted), the sector is arming itself against counterfeiting and preparing to open to international markets.
